October 13, 2012 saw the start of the fourth edition of the ECO DIVE DAY campaign organised by the TICADA Diving and Active Tourism Centre and the Gdynia Sport and Recreation Centre. Its aim, as every year, is primarily to engage the diving community in cleaning underwater areas: Gdynia Marina, the Presidential Quay and the beach near the boulevard.

We want the event to attract not only divers, so it will be accompanied by a festival with attractions for children. Many companies, not only diving ones, will present their stands on that day.

Participation of divers in the action is free of charge. Thanks to many sponsors we provide the participants with a hot meal, drinks, changing rooms, occasional T-shirts and, most importantly, drawing of attractive prizes.

The idea came from Sebastian Borek from Ticada Diving Centre and Piotr Bielski from Gdynia Marina. The safety of divers will be ensured by paramedics, WOPR lifeguards and chronometrists. The event will be held under the honorary patronage of Wojciech Szczurek, the President of Gdynia.

In previous years it was really fun and everyone had a good time. This year we don’t expect it to be any different!
