Listen to this article

A new and interesting initiative aimed at divers and diving centres is slowly unfolding. We are talking about the Diving Tournament, which is to select the most active divers in a given season. You will be able to gain points in the classification, among others, during training or shopping in selected diving centres, or during dives, confirmed in our logbooks.

The aim of the competition is to select the 10 most active divers in a given calendar year and to honour a grand prize winner from among them. The competition and the accrual of points will start from 1 January 2014.

All divers may participate in the competition regardless of organisation, club affiliation and place of origin. The Diving Tournament is of national rank. We invite all who want to have fun with us!

Points in the Diving Competition can be gained by documented dives in the logbook, number of training sessions and diving certificate held. The registration of participants will be held in the premises of the Diving Centre, which is the partner of the competition. Before the inauguration of the Diving Tournament, the committee will select 10 winners based on the collected documents, who will take part in the competition for the main prize.

Those who show the greatest cleverness, knowledge of diving equipment, diving knowledge and skills under water will be awarded with high prizes. The classification table of the 10 finalists of the Diving Tournament and the date of the competition can be found in the Diving Centre. The diving competition will take place at Kłodno Lake in Chmielno, Kashubia. The event will be accompanied by a Diving Picnic and its culmination will be the games for the main prize.

The event finals will host companies exhibiting diving equipment, participants and numerous guests and observers of the event. The event finals will take place over the weekend. It will start on Saturday afternoon and end on Sunday evening.

The final of the competition and the accompanying event are planned for October. The exact date and schedule will be announced soon.

Preliminary rules:
– The competition is open to any diver from OWD level regardless of organisation and club affiliation or place of origin
– Instructors and former 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners are not allowed to take part in the competition
– Classification points for the final competition for training and diving are calculated from 1 January 2014
– Those with diving qualifications prior to 1st January 2014 will only receive points for the one highest diving rank they hold and the opportunity to participate in the competition with the possibility of further points for certificates and dives performed from 1st January 2014
– Points for training/courses are awarded on the basis of the original diving certificate delivered in person to the diving centre which is a partner of the competition
– Points for diving are awarded on the basis of an entry in the logbook delivered personally to the Diving Centre, preferably with confirmation from the diving base or instructor. In case of dispute, dives confirmed by a diving base or an Instructor will be of greater value
