The water sports feast is behind us. There was a lot going on. Thousands of people every day. New products, gadgets, specialist equipment and as many as 8 Polish companies among the diving exhibitors. And much more on the yacht section. 9 fair days from 20th to 28th January 2017. The famous Boot in Düsseldorf and the editorial team (the only Polish one officially, as far as we know) of Divers24, especially for you.

The diving area is of considerable size. Two large pools with portholes, where you could dive, and above all admire the divers. Wide alleys between the stands and plenty of space. Exhibitors from all parts of the world and plenty of offers for trips to the near and far corners of the world. There was plenty to choose from.

Every day thousands of visitors, whole families, enthusiasts and customers walked the kilometres of halls. Poland in the diving section was represented directly by the manufacturers or they were on the stands of their German distributors.

In alphabetical order, and we visited each of our compatriots, the companies were: Ammonite System, Kwark, NoGravity, Santi, Scubatech, Seawolf, SeaYa and XDeep.

Practically everything could be touched, tried on, played with or even smelled and “tasted”, although I do not recommend the latter. All kinds of diving suits, wetsuits, dry and semi-dry, with interesting solutions concerning pockets, seams, reinforcements, materials used and their colours, were very popular. You could choose the scooter of your dreams, from a tiny, almost pocket-sized one, to a specific one from the high shelf. One for cavemen and one for recreational divers. Automatics, computers, underwater navigation, and finally fins, masks, harnesses, wings, etc.

Solutions of purely Polish technical thought attracted great interest, and it is clear from our exhibitors that the German market is one of great power and great capacity.

There were few guests from Poland. There were some people and small groups of divers, but they were only sultanas. It’s a pity, because it is quite well-organized and interesting show, which is worth visiting at least once, if only because the manufacturers exhibit here very widely their range of products. In my opinion, one or two days are enough.

We are preparing for the Underwater Adventure Fair. They are also developing for us. Poland is a much smaller market and less affluent, but each year sees several thousand new divers completing their basic course. In my opinion we should try to advertise our fair more to people thinking about diving, thinking about adventure, about more sophisticated way of spending time. The offer of both Nurgres, as well as the fair itself should attract such people like a magnet, because in them we see the development of the field, which is diving.
