The wreck was discovered by the ORP Arctowski unit during routine work. Hydrographic equipment recorded the object at a depth of 20-30m. In December, the site was surveyed using sonar and echo sounders, and an ROV was sent to the prepared ground in January.

Arctowski’s discovery is truly unique. It is rare for an aircraft to survive a collision with water and remain in such good condition. Closer inspection should help to determine the cause of the plane’s sinking. According to the hydrographic crew, we are dealing with a German Junkers.

It is very possible that in some time, when the wreck has already been researched, Polish divers will be able to boast of another interesting diving site. The wreck is unlikely to be raised, as this would entail high costs.
