A heavily corroded shell, probably dating back to World War II, washed ashore on the sandy shore of Słowiński National Park. Firefighters from Łeba, who were called to the site, secured the area around the discovery.
The local police and sappers from Lębork also arrived on the scene. It was the military who dealt with the potentially dangerous find. As it was not possible at the site to determine whether there was an explosive charge inside the torpedo, a fragment was taken for analysis.
It is the results of the tests carried out on the sample that will determine the further treatment of this unusual souvenir that the sea has decided to give us.
