The famous wreck of the plane “Claude”, located in the hold of the “Fujikawa Maru”, whose tail was standing proudly up above the wreck, has been irretrievably destroyed. According to local guides, one of the divers decided to take a picture of himself sitting on the tail, which eventually led to its collapse.
Through behaviour for which it is hard to find the right words in the vocabulary of civilised people to describe, the diving community lost an artefact that had stood on the seabed for 75 years and was known as one of the most photogenic aircraft wrecks.
As you can see, learning to dive should not only focus on the details of diving itself, but also include elements that make up for the deficiencies in general education and upbringing. Things that were once unthinkable, today, unfortunately, are less and less surprising. A sign of the times. All that remains is sadness, anger and helplessness.
