Today we have something very special for you. And it’s not just about the fact that it is the first time (!) that we have done a material in the form of a video interview. Personally, I was most impressed (maybe because the whole thing was kept secret and I didn’t expect it at all) by the Wrecks 3D application and today we are giving away to your hands, eyes and ears the interview with the creators of this unusual project.
Those present at Baltictech 2015 certainly did not miss the stand of the Wrecks 3D team, where, using special goggles, we could take a virtual dive on the wrecks of the Gulf of Gdansk. Those who did not have such an opportunity should definitely check out the video posted below and accept as soon as possible that preparations for wreck diving have changed and will never again look like they did before the weekend of 21-22 November 2015.
Application is currently available for androidand there is a version for Apple devices in the pipeline (to be ready by the end of this year). For the modest price of € 1.99 we can buy a single wreck we want to look at, or for € 9.99 we can buy a package of 8 wrecks at once. A moment later, on the display of our phone, or any other screen to which we connect the device with the application, a three-dimensional image of the selected ship will appear.
With such supporting material we can perfectly plan a dive, starting from the descent in a particular sector, to its exploration and return to the previously planned place. Thanks to the detailed reproduction of the sunken vessels, going underwater we may be surprised only by poor visibility, but even then we should not have any problem with locating the characteristic elements with which we got acquainted during breefing with the use of Wrecks 3D.
A very interesting support for the application are “markers”. These are appropriately prepared boards, which, when hovered over with a smartphone, will give us an image of the wreck on the display. There are also goggles dedicated to Wrecks 3D in preparation, which will allow us to “go into” virtual reality. Their price should be relatively low, as all the electronics will be our smartphone.
As far as the video in the text is concerned, it was created quite spontaneously, using a microphone for a dozen or so zlotys, which guaranteed despairing quality. Nevertheless, the effects of our work surpassed our wildest expectations and you can expect that in the near future video interviews will become a permanent part of D24’s repertoire! Another one is coming soon, whose protagonists will be people connected with diversguide.eu
