We grind the Emerald! That is, the great clean-up action of the Emerald Lake!

“Grinding the Emerald” is an action planned by the Born2Dive diving centre in Szczecin, the aim of which is to clean the bottom of the Emerald Lake and the surrounding area. So if this beautiful and unique body of water is close to you, if you have trained in its waters, or if you have had a nice time in the area full of attractions, we invite you to join the great cleaning!

For the second time, we would like to draw the attention of the inhabitants of Szczecin to the problem of littering in the neighbourhood, which so gratefully serves us with its beauty and attractions during numerous family walks.

Therefore, on 30.04.2016 we decided to grind the Emerald again. We are gathering strength and during the Saturday walk we urge everyone to clean up the surrounding walking paths on the Emerald Lake. We, as a group of divers, will fish out what is hidden at the bottom of the lake. And believe us, there is a lot of rubbish there.

The Born2dive Diving Centre, together with all willing divers, will be fishing trash from the bottom of the lake. During this time, films of underwater adventures will be screened. Bene Sport will provide all-day entertainment. There will be, among other things, family basketball tournaments, badminton matches and goal shooting. You can also try your hand at archery. Decathlon will provide trampolines and sports equipment.

We will not complain about a lack of attractions on that day. There will be thematic art workshops for children and you can visit the surrounding undergrounds.

As for the cost, on that day, the currency will be… a bag of rubbish collected from the surrounding walking areas. All this for just one sack of rubbish!

At the end of the event, before 5 pm, we will draw the main prize: a diving course at the Born2dive Diving Centre. We will draw vouchers to Bene Sport, we will also draw prizes sponsored by Decathlon.

It is worth coming, helping and showing that we do not watch helplessly as our favourite places deteriorate. Delicious pea soup will be waiting for everyone, and 100 cinema tickets will be drawn among the participants!

We are supported by the Mayor of Szczecin, helped by the Szczecin City Hall, Decathlon from Ustowo, Bene Sport Szczecin and the Zdroje Housing Estate Council.

Join us and let’s polish our Emerald together!
