The aim of the partnership with VDI is to find new ways to promote diving to potential and existing divers. We live in times where virtual reality is increasingly important. Especially now, when due to a pandemic the possibilities to move and function freely have been reduced.
Today, remote working is an increasingly common phenomenon. Also, classes in schools are held via the Internet, as are many training courses and courses. What is more, some diving parties and events has taken an online character due to the restrictions.
Virtual reality has become an area that is constantly evolving. That’s why companies in the diving industry, more and more boldly try to develop this area. Of course, this is only in addition to the diving itself. However, both the new generation of divers and the reality around us are operating in a decidedly more digital reality. It would therefore be very unwise to ignore this trend.
Although there have already been titles based on diving on the video game market, Virtual Divers International (VDI), is the first diving simulator. The VDI application is characterised by a very high level of realism and attention to detail. Of course, it is far from the experience provided by real diving. Let us remember, however, that these two worlds do not compete, but complement each other.
Virtual Diving International application provides great opportunities to promote diving and to showcase its fundamentals. While generations of divers from decades past were familiar with the reality before the era of video games or the internet, nowadays these elements are an important part of life. It is therefore to be expected that the next few years will see an intensification of activities in these areas on the part of diving companies. The ability to reach new customers and maintain relationships with existing ones online is much easier. This also applies to online sales of products and services such as training, equipment or diving trips.
SSI is constantly looking for new ways to attract customers. Whether it is through our own activities or through partnerships with new and innovative companies. When we see an opportunity, we act quickly, and the dive simulator is one such opportunity ,” said Guido Waetzig, President and CEO of SSI.
Due to the worldwide situation of the last two years, the diving industry also needs to reinvent itself. And this is exactly what is happening. More companies from local ones to global corporations are looking for new formats and solutions. Perhaps, for many young people, it is diving simulator will be the first step on the road that will take them under the water?
