The second edition of the flippers in Mikolajki!

On Saturday 06.12.2014 we met for the second time for an action called Santa Claus in Mikołajki. Well, first of all, on behalf of all the Flippers we would like to thank all the slackers for not knowing what a dustbin is… What is segregation they know, that is glass to water and tyres to chimney… Without you we wouldn’t have anything to do in Santa Claus.

But fortunately we are us – the Flippers and we do not stop setting an example – Non Profit! We do not need interviews (although, as you can see in the photos, reporters from different stations fought over an interview with a representative of the Club), nor do we need awards or recognition from pseudo-environmental organisations, which, drawing on grants, are created one after another.

A warm sausage from the Mikołajki Municipality is enough for us, and in return we – true local enthusiasts of the Great Mazurian Lakes – dug out almost two containers of rubbish from the bottom of Mikołajskie Lake. Champagne, wine and booze bottles reigned supreme. There were also two toilet seats (used), a water collector, a chair frame, etc.

Most fortunate was Adam, who found and retrieved a pre-war beer crate with bottles (including 5 from Gizycko/Lötzen) We dived in 4°C water for about 90 minutes.

This year, there were nine of us divers, two dry divers and Zuzka, so a total of 12 great divers. We were joined by Adam Sobański, Krzysztof Golubiński, Daniel Winiarz, Sebastian Łepkowski, Czarek Śmiarowski, Bogdan Ławrynowicz, Sylwek and Krzysiek Łobodziński, three divers from Węgorzewo and Zuzka. Next year again – the Flippers!
