Scuba Schools Intertnational – SSI, the diving training and certification organisation, has decided to provide dive centres with the opportunity to register customers for the Marine Ecology specialisation free of charge.

This move by SSI is part of the organisation’s “Dry Specialties” campaign, which is a response to the many restrictions in many countries that make diving seriously difficult or completely impossible.

This policy certainly helps to build a positive image for SSI, as well as giving dive centres and their customers the opportunity to maintain their interest in diving and to gain new knowledge and further development.

Customers of SSI affiliated dive centres can be enrolled in the Marine Ecology specialisation free of charge from now until 31 March 2021. As part of the specialisation, each student will receive free training materials and a certificate confirming the acquisition of a new specialisation.

As far as the scope of the specialisation itself is concerned, it focuses on the study of the complex and multi-layered network of interrelationships that exist between different representatives of biota in different marine ecosystems. Among other things, students learn how organisms interact with each other and their environment. How energy flows through individual communities, creating links between different ecosystems, and how humans play a key role in the ever-changing biology of the ocean.
