Russian navy divers break the record – 416 m! – video

Three divers diving to 416 metres broke the depth record for dives performed by sailors of the Russian Navy, rt.com reported. The dive was planned and carried out as part of a rescue exercise that took place in the Sea of Japan.

Such a demanding dive was preceded by exceptional preparations. All divers had to spend three days in a decompression chamber before being placed in a diving bell and lowered to record depths. The operation was conducted from the true pride of the Russian fleet, the search and rescue ship “Igor Belousov”.

While at record depths, the divers performed a range of tasks that they face in their standard missions. This included searching the area, or connecting breathing mixture lines and attaching them to a model submarine.

There was also no shortage of moments to celebrate such an incredible feat. After completing their tasks, the divers unfurled the Russian flag and celebrated their success in front of the camera lens. The Russian Navy’s record was improved by exactly 99 metres. The previous dive of 317 metres was carried out a year ago. So, can we expect another feat by Russian divers at the end of 2019?

By the way, it is worth mentioning that the deepest saturation dive was performed in France. 4 Comex divers and 2 French navy divers descended to a depth of 534 metres.
