Retronurings and Demo Days in Piechcienie

Soon, on the weekend of 22-23 August, the Piechcin Quarry will host two interesting events aimed at the diving community. The first will be the much-loved retreat, and the second will be demo days, during which OMS – Ocean Management Systems Polska will be presenting its wide range of diving equipment.

Both on 22nd August and 23rd August it will be happening! Start on Saturday at 9.00 am with a lecture entitled Technique of Diving in a Bell Helmet, which will be led by Wiesław Wachowski, and then until 16.00 you will have the opportunity to test your knowledge in practice, during diving in an open (bell) helmet, which is a faithful replica of the Polish helmet of Professor R. Wojtusiak from 1935.

It is worth noting that it is not required to have any diving qualifications to try your hand and dive in the helmet.

On Saturday evening, at 7.30 pm, there will be an hour-long lecture entitled “Nurek”, a motorboat of the Polish Navy, which will also be conducted by Wiesław Wachowski. During your stay at the quarry, it will also be worth taking time to visit the exhibition of Polish antique diving equipment, specially prepared for this occasion, coming from the collection of the Academic Underwater Research Club “Arius” in Bydgoszcz.

On Sunday there will be fewer attractions, but we all know how it is on Sundays at diving events … From 9.00 to 13.00 there will be an opportunity to try your hand at diving in a helmet-replice, and you will also be able to visit an exhibition of historic equipment of AKBP “Arius”.

At the same time, the quarry will host Demo Days organised by OMS Polska. So it will be a great opportunity to test in combat conditions a whole lot of interesting equipment that the brand has in its catalogue. So if you have no plans for this weekend, you can be sure that there will be a lot going on in Piechcin!

We encourage all who have not had the opportunity to dive in the Piechcin Quarry to catch up and in the meantime we recommend the following article on this interesting location, published in our quarterly.
