Good news comes from North America. The project to explore and salvage the wreck of the steamer “Pułaski” has been extended by another 2 years and will last until 2020. This turn of events was possible thanks to the agreement reached by Endurance Exploration Group and Blue Water Ventures International.

More time is, of course, an opportunity to more thoroughly examine and secure the wreck of this magnificent 19th century steamer.

“Given the amount of research material acquired to date, we have barely scratched the surface of ‘Pulaski’. A thorough archaeological survey and artefact retrieval will require at least another two years.” – said Keith Webb of Blue Water Ventures

The steamer Pułaski sank on 14 June 1838, 48 km off the coast of North Carolina, USA. The shipwreck claimed the lives of 128 of the 187 people on board. We wrote about the discovery of the wreck and its extremely interesting fate we wrote in January This year.
