RAID launches “FREe-Learning” platform

If you had scuba diving in your plans for the coming months, there is no denying that the situation in this regard has become somewhat complicated. Due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic, most activities have to take place in confinement among 4 walls, which essentially rules out the possibility of development and realisation in the diving field (not only, by the way).

Fortunately, the industry is reacting quickly and introducing solutions that, in an era of widespread quarantine, will make it possible, at least to some extent, to carry out activities that allow our diving development. RAID, an organisation that trains and certifies divers worldwide, has created a free e-learning platform that gives access to training materials.

In an official announcement, RAID said that all training programmes are available to visitors and registrants on www.diveraid.com, and ultimately on 1 April the FREe-Learning platform will be launched, which will be the main tool in free online training.

“We don’t want to cause difficulties for anyone who remains involved in the sport, especially now,” said RAID president Paul Toomer.

RAID will give its registrants free access to dozens of training programmes on offer. The spectrum of training is really wide, starting from the intro Try Dive, up to the Cave Instructor course.

The knowledge thus acquired and the training carried out via online tools will later be verified once the world situation has returned to normal. If everything goes well for the training provider, the trainee will be able to take the final theoretical exam and start practical classes.

It is worth noting that the solutions introduced by RAID will not disappear with the end of the pandemic. The organisation intends to continue on its current course and access to its materials will remain free.
