Sebastian Marczewski set a new diving record! The whole thing took place during a dive in one of the most popular bodies of water in Poland – Lake Hancza. The Afghan veteran also became the first diver to cross the Hancza in such an unusual way.

Many a daredevil, after proper training, has reached the bottom in the deepest part of the lake, but nobody has ever swum the Hancza River lengthwise before. What is more, Sebastian kept to a depth of ~60 metres most of the time, which was quite a challenge.

The newly crowned record-holder had been attempting his feat for several months. He had plenty of experience, as he has been diving for 20 years. His plans were also not hindered by back problems resulting from injuries sustained during a mission in Afghanistan.
