On 31 October 2015, for the third time, diving enthusiasts will meet in Giżycko to commemorate those who are no longer with us. On the eve of the Feast of the Dead, the third edition of the Mazurian Night Mile – the only such event in the country – will take place.

This year, due to the exceptionally low water level, we abandoned the Łuczański Canal. We decided to sail from the mouth of the Łuczański Canal to the Niegocin River (near the old Płetwala) to the Ekomarina in a similar formula as before – with pumpkins on platforms.

The distance is slightly shorter: about 1200 m, but the challenge is still quite demanding. On the way divers will pass the city beach and futuristic starblocks. We meet at the Balon roundabout at 5.30 p.m. No pumpkins allowed in the water ????

Surface assistance will be provided by friendly divers from the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Giżycko.

The event is non-commercial and was organised for several reasons. In addition to being a great way to integrate and activate the diving community in the area, the participating divers make no secret that it is also a great opportunity to commemorate divers and loved ones who are unfortunately no longer with us.

If you feel like trying something new, feel invited to Giżycko. All those who would like to join and take part in the II Mazurian Night Mile, more information about the event and contact details of the organisers can be found on the official website of the Scuba Diving Club “Płetwal”.

You will find more information here.
