A great result in DYN Bifins competition and a world record, that’s how Mateusz Malina started his official starts in 2022. During the Bluego MiniComp competitionwhich took place in the Sports Bay of the Łódź University of Technology. He also confirmed his high disposition and raised high hopes before the approaching CMAS World Championships in Belgrade.

After the official confirmation of the new world record, Mateusz Malina posted an emotional post on his social media. He referred, among other things, to the accusations he faces because of his successes. He also shared what his life has been like for many years, which he fully dedicated to freediving.

I committed my whole life to training and discipline because nutrition combined with recovery is as important as training. Being disciplined for 22h a day in nutrition is much harder than being disciplined 2h a day for training, multiply it by 10+ years. Malina writes.

Matthew also pointed out the effectiveness of his methods. Not only in relation to him, but also to other freedivers. The Pole, apart from being an active competitor, is also involved in teaching. In this field he is also very successful. Some of his students are becoming more and more important in the world of freediving.

Everyone thought I’m crazy living life like that. Yes I have been training and living like that my entire adult life and I plan to continue so because I love freediving. My biggest success was imprinting this philosophy in China which turned out in many great performances and the rise of William Joy joy among few others. From females I helped Mirela Kardasevic greatly, shaped her and in a few years the whole world will be surprised too (if they are not already by now) he continues.

Ready for any test

Malina also stressed that he has nothing to hide. That is why he is ready to undergo any doping test at any time. From the words of the Polish champion we can read that every great success has also dark sides. Regardless of the discipline, reaching the peak makes a whole group of dissatisfied people appear. Such people will do and especially say a lot to undermine your results.

I appeal to CMAS-World Underwater Federation and AIDA International officials. PLEASE perform random doping control on me, anytime of the day, anytime of the year, for whatever substance that is request and may offer unfair advantage. I challenge people who repeatedly spread hate about me to inform AIDA and CMAS officials about what substance they should cross-examine in my past AIDA-CMAS World Records or World Championships – B samples (probably 20-30+ tests?) and in future what method should be used to conduct such tests, it can be even substances that are not listed on WADA prohibited list but potentially offer unfair advantage. Right now we are 2-6 months away from those events. Do it, so later when I do something great again, I won’t have to listen to all naysayers and doubters, because this is just disrespectful. concluded Mateusz Malina.

#TeamMalina

For many years I have been following the course and development of Mateusz Malina’s career. Starting from 2011 and his performance during Apnea Festival Wroclaw and AIDA World Championships in Kalamata, where he won the silver medal. At that time Mateusz had to acknowledge the superiority of only legendary William Trubridge. Admittedly from a distance, but I saw the long way he had come, as well as his development marked by successive successes. In my eyes, he remained focused on only one thing at all times – freediving. That is why I hope that many more times he will give a reason to gnash his teeth at all those who question his achievements. The nearest opportunity will come soon, during the World Championships in Belgrade in June.
