The latest Mares model – Dual ADJ 62X, has the smallest and most compact 1st stage in the manufacturer’s offer. Its small size and weight certainly make it an ideal companion for diving trips.

The first stage of the Mares Dual ADJ 62X kit is only 63mm high and weighs only 464g. The small but very robust first stage is 10% smaller and lighter than its predecessor 52X. It also has 30% less volume.

Despite its small size, the automatic still offers all the innovative features familiar from earlier models. These include the automatic sealing technology (AST), which prevents water from entering the first stage.

The main parts of the 62X have been redesigned to provide an even better seal, making it ideal for for diving in cold water. The addition of an optional twin balanced piston (TBP) makes this one of the most efficient regulators for cold water diving.

The 62X’s technical innovations also include a new plug seat. It is now sharper with a smaller taper radius and reduced angle to better define the sealing surface.

The ultra-light Dual Adj second stage, on the other hand, ensures smooth and easy breathing whatever the conditions. Enriched with P.A.D and unique patented Mares design Vortex Assisted Design (VAD), it ranks among the best in terms of ease of air delivery. The redesigned breathing resistance adjustment knob can be easily operated even with thick gloves.
