Dive equipment manufacturer XDEEP has issued a statement asking users of the NX700 regulator to return it.

The manufacturer claims that the issue is not serious. However, with the safety of its customers in mind, it has decided to update the 1st stage of the NX700 regulator. It has therefore recalled unsold units from the market and asked customers to contact it to have their units updated.

Safety is paramount. Although we have not recorded a single failure caused by this problem, we have decided to withdraw our NX700 regulators and upgrade them to the latest version informed XDEEP in an official statement.

XDEEP stressed that the NX700 regulators were manufactured in Italy by a reputable company with extensive experience. All units were also to be thoroughly inspected and tested before being launched on the market, as it XDEEP subjects its regulators to months of very rigorous testing under extreme conditions.

Unfortunately, during routine periodic inspections of some NX700 1st stages, in isolated instances, we detected trace, above-normal signs of diaphragm wear. We have not detected or received any notifications of any failures or abnormalities due to this potential wear. Nevertheless, we have decided to upgrade all existing NX700 1stt stages to the latest available version, in which any chance of the aforementioned abnormalities has been completely eliminated reads the official announcement.

So if you are a owner of XDEEP NX700, please immediately contact your dealer or the manufacturer directly. All details about the whole action can be found here.

XDEEP has also decided to compensate for the inconvenience caused by the whole situation. Each owner of the NX700 will receive a free XDEEP Signature hoodie in the size and colour of their choice.
