Human impact on the underwater world

There is no doubt that human activity has a huge impact on the environment of lakes, seas and oceans. Fishing, developing more and more land for building, exploiting deposits or polluting the waters by disposing of waste are just some of the items on the list and the examples could go on.

What all these elements have in common, however, is the ill-considered and often unpredictable effect they have on the inhabitants and environment of the deep. And as you can see in the attached video, there is no shortage of clever people among the representatives of marine fauna.

A clever octopus, having encountered the “wonderful” object that is a metal can, decided to adapt it for its own use. Taking advantage of the object’s properties, such as its light weight, enormous strength and spacious interior, it made a kind of caravan out of it, or, looking at some species of snails, a shell.

The film shows how a small octopus moves along with a captured piece of metal, which apparently was very much to its liking. Although animals, like people, are able to adapt to new conditions, we should remember that nothing that goes under the water dissolves in it, but remains there for years. Even if it is an ordinary can, it has an impact on the underwater world.
