Soldiers operating in the water have to undergo specialised training in order to be able to cope with any situation and any problem should the unexpected happen. Their lives are at stake, so it is no wonder that the training programme is very demanding, and the training is among the most gruelling that American soldiers undergo.
The photos below show soldiers serving in America’s Amphibious Marine Corps and America’s most elite formation – the Navy Seals. And since they are the best, they have to be able to cope under all conditions, so no one spares them during training and exercises. All this is done so that in a real moment of trial a soldier has the best possible chance of surviving and performing the task entrusted to him.
In specially designed centres, operators of all the most elite formations toughen up to be physically fit, mentally strong and able to withstand the stress of water hazards. For this purpose they perform exercises with their arms and legs tied, or assemble their equipment under water.
