Hollis and Oceanic brands have a new owner

In an official press release issued on Monday, May 1, 2017, Huish Outdoors LLC. announced the purchase of popular dive brands Hollis and Oceanic. This is yet another change of ownership of leading dive brands in recent times. Not so long ago, we reported on similar operations involving Aqualunga or PADI.

Founded by Bob Hollis in 1972, the company – American Underwater Products – has grown into a conglomerate with many brands, the two best known in our market being Hollis and Oceanic, offering a range of products for recreational and technical divers.

“The addition of the Hollis and Oceanic brands to our product family is an extremely important step for Huish Outdoors. This will allow us to offer a full cross-section of diving products in our portfolio. We recognise that our customers choose the best on the market, not driven by the choice of just one brand.” – said Mike Huish, CEO of Huish Outdoors

Hollis and Oceanic are the sixth and seventh dive brands acquired by Huish Outdoors since 2011. They previously included Atomic Aquatics, Bare, Liquivision, Sharkskin, Stahlsac and Zeagle.

“The Hollis family is excited to partner with Huish Outdoors LLC. We are happy to be part of an ever-growing company that strongly believes in the growth of the dive industry and wants to prove itself in this field.” – Bob Hollis commented on the whole thing.
