He ran 2 marathons in full diving gear!

The man known as Scuba Mark ran the Chicago Marathon in full diving gear, and recently repeated the feat with another marathon in Dublno. He finished the race with a pretty good time of 4:24:26, all done for a good cause, supporting the charity fundraiser for Project Aware.

The man is a diving and fitness trainer by day, but he wishes to remain anonymous so that the media’s attention is focused on the actions he promotes and not on him. By his actions, Scuba Mark supports the fundraising efforts of Project Aware.

The not-for-profit organisation is not only trying to reduce plastic pollution in waters, but is also trying to influence governments to introduce appropriate regulations to combat the causes and not just the effects of the problem. It is also known for its efforts to protect sharks and manta rays, which can be seen in their logo.

Although this season has already ended for Scuba Mark, the fundraising will continue until 7 November and he is already preparing for next year, in which he not only intends to compete again, but would like to break the Guinness World Record.

“People ask me why I do it if it is exhausting and risky to my health. I believe the risk is necessary to show people my passion and dedication to the cause. Frankly, I can’t stand to see what we are doing to our planet and all its inhabitants,” said Scuba Mark.
