Last weekend, the Global Diving Conference 2011 was held in Kiel, Germany. For many of us, the “dead” diving season has come, when the weather is neither conducive nor encourages to go above and below the water. Thus, as a herd animal, man is looking for an alternative where he can socialise in interesting diving circumstances.

The autumn-winter period is the time in our environment when most events, fairs, conferences and conventions of all kinds take place. This coming weekend will see the 5th edition of the well-known Baltictech technical divers’ conference. Our western neighbours, however, are not idle and this year have organised the German equivalent under the name Global Diving Conference 2011.

In addition to national experts, guests had the opportunity to listen to lectures by aces of world diving in the form of Jarrod Jablonski, Dr. J.P. Imbert, Phil Short, Pierre-Yves Cousteau, Richard Lundgren or Prof. Constantino Balestra.

Those who did not have the opportunity to go to Germany to meet, listen and exchange a few sentences with scuba diving authorities will have a chance to make up for it this weekend in Gdynia.
