Giant jellyfish filmed while diving in Mexico – video

A group of divers had an encounter with a giant jellyfish while diving in the waters near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The unusually large creature was captured on video, which you can find below.

The white jellyfish recorded by the divers measured well over a metre long and made a huge impression on everyone. The author of the recording is photographer Christian Hauser. He recorded this interesting material in a place known as Majahuitas Bay.

The footage shows Hauser’s diving buddy swimming close to the jellyfish, almost touching its legs. As the author of the recording stated in an interview with the media, this type of jellyfish is extremely rarely seen in this region. The species can reach a size of up to two metres, so the encounter is still far from being a colossus.

It is also interesting to note that the footage was taken near a crowded beach, just a dozen metres from the shoreline.
