Fire brigade divers have found the body of a missing diver. The 43-year-old man went missing on Sunday while diving in the Honoratka quarry.

The local press has reported that fire brigade divers have found and brought to the surface the body of a missing diver. The man went missing last Sunday, 26 September, while diving in the Honoratka quarry. The reservoir, which is located in the municipality of Ślesin, is one of the most popular diving sites in Wielkopolska.

Man’s disappearance reported by people who were at the Honoratka diving base at the time. According to the information we received, the 43-year-old was conducting a solo dive. The accident victim was diving on an open circuit and in a two-bottle set. The body of the dead man was found by firefighters at a depth of 30 m after four days of searching.

A 43-year-old man went diving on Sunday at around 2 p.m. When he did not return for several more hours, people at the Honoratka diving base notified the emergency services at around 6 p.m. A search began, which was interrupted as night fell. The body of the missing diver was found by firefighters on Wednesday evening.

The search was carried out by firefighters from the Specialist Water and Diving Rescue Group from Fire and Rescue Unit No. 2 and firefighters with a boat from Fire and Rescue Unit No. 1 in Konin, firefighters from Fire and Rescue Unit No. 1 in Poznań, and they were supported by colleagues from TSO Ślesin, TSO Stare Miasto, TSO Mosina and TSO Lichen Stary.

The investigation into the course and circumstances of the incident is being conducted by the police and the public prosecutor’s office.
