In recent hours, there has been a lot of commotion about the closure of one of Poland’s most popular diving sites – the Koparki quarry. The whole thing turned out to be just a joke, but it also showed how easily unconfirmed information can cause a lot of conjecture, speculation and conspiracy theories.

In the afternoon on diving groups and profiles the news broke that sanitary authorities decided to close the access to Koparki reservoir tomorrow. It did not take much for this news to trigger an avalanche of conjecture and absurd conspiracy theories. However, it turned out that the whole thing was just a joke.

The news of the closure of the Diggers instantly caused an outcry and triggered a flood of comments, which were dominated by the theme of malicious actions taken by the ruling party in connection with tomorrow’s elections. Probably in the imagination of many people, the closure of one body of water in a country of almost 40 million people would have a significant impact on the turnout …

As you can see, a lot of Poles were clearly influenced by the election campaign that ended yesterday. Well, the diving community never lacked fantasy, and as you can see sometimes all it takes is a spark to fly really high. As for the closure of the dive base in Koparki, we will keep our fingers on the pulse and inform you as more information appears, but at the moment there is nothing like that.
