Media from Mexico have reported on a tragic accident that occurred in the country. As a result of a shark attack, a professional scuba diver was killed. The incident occurred in the state of Sonora, located on the Gulf of California.

According to available information, 37-year-old Nahum Verdugo went fishing with friends. The fishing took place at a place known as Haway, 10 km southeast of Isla San Jorge.

At one point, his companions saw Nahum’s body float to the surface, and when they pulled him aboard the boat they realised that he had lost his leg. Local police said the man was probably attacked as soon as he entered the water.

The victim, lived in the nearby town of Puerto Peñasco, where she worked as a professional fish and seafood catcher.
