Diver fishes out engagement ring and saves the day! – video

Hannah and Chris Austin were spending a pleasant afternoon in one of the popular establishments in Texas. The woman took off her engagement ring as a precaution so it wouldn’t get dirty, and it landed in the bottom of a lake when her husband nudged it.

The Gnarly Gar is a very popular establishment located in Point Venture on Lake Travis. A couple was enjoying a burger there when tragedy struck. The husband didn’t notice that his wife had just taken off her ring and put it on the table and a moment later inadvertently knocked it between the boards of the terrace.

[blockquote style=”2″]”I didn’t tell him I took the ring off, and he knocked it into the lake with his elbow just moments later.”[/blockquote]

The woman was terrified that the ring was gone forever, and as it turns out, it wasn’t just a trinket…

[blockquote style=”2″]”My ring was made from diamonds that were previously in my mother’s wedding ring, as well as stones that once adorned my grandmother’s engagement ring. As you can understand, it wasn’t one of those old rings you can buy from a jeweller.”[/blockquote]

When it seemed that there was no more hope and the doom would be lost forever, one of the guests who tried to help suggested asking a diver for help.

[blockquote style=”2″]”I didn’t even realise that people could provide such services and that it was even possible.”[/blockquote]

Fortunately, diver Robert Weiss set off to search in the indicated place and after a short time appeared on the surface with the lost ring in his hand! The task was not easy, as the surrounding waters are not the clearest, but fortunately a weight lowered on a line, where the ring fell between the boards, indicated the search area quite precisely.

The husband summed up the whole situation by saying that next time they go out to eat, the ring stays on the finger!
