We are all familiar with the saying that misfortune walks in pairs. However, our view of what misfortune is is conditioned by perspective and time. After all, our tragedy may be linked to someone else’s happiness and, following this line of reasoning, it is the same if we look the other way.

Such is the case with the discovery of a new wreck, which was made by the participants of the expedition Windswept. In this way, the tragedy of the old sailors became an exciting discovery and an adventure for today’s divers.

During the work to inventory and excavate the cannons, a new, previously unknown vessel was located. The wreck, which lies a few miles from where the work on the cannons was carried out, aroused so much interest and strong emotions that the members of the expedition could not resist and decided to make a dive on the newly located position.

During the two dives made by the expedition participants, apart from photo and video material, ceramics, glass bottles, a compass, a sextant, an hourglass and clay vessels were found and brought to the surface.

Preliminary findings suggest that it is a well-preserved wreck of a small sailing ship, carrying coal. It is a safe position for diving and only its bow section is tightly lashed with a small net, which poses no danger.
