Deepspot – the world’s deepest pool on the final straight!

The diving community in Poland will soon receive its long-awaited pearl in the crown, as this is certainly how the Deepspot pool should be called, which at the moment of its official opening will become the deepest facility of its kind in the world.

On Deepspot’s official social media channels, we’ve recently been seeing increased traffic and more posts showing the progress of the work. And no wonder! According to the latest post, there is only 80 cm left to reach the planned depth of 45 metres.

Only 80cm left… but for that we have to wait a few more days.

It looks so peaceful – and tempting! ????????????

It has been a long road

As announced, The swimming pool was due to open as early as 2019However, as you can see, the realisation of such a complex and unique project encountered difficulties, which quite seriously delayed the commissioning of the investment.

Race against time

It is worth mentioning that from the very beginning, it was rumoured that the Blue Abyss, with a maximum depth of 50 metres, would be built in the UK in parallel to Deepspot. It was also pointed out that too much delay in the construction of the Polish construction might result in the British being the first to finish their pool and Deepsport never getting the title of “the deepest in the world”.

A last look at the pool without water photo Deepspot

As you can see although serious delays in Deepspot’s completion have been unavoidable, it is important to note that the whole thing is nearing completion and we will soon see the grand opening. Meanwhile, Blue Abyss has fallen far behind and announcements in February 2019 about the completion of the project in early 2021. are probably no longer up to date. Moreover, there is also no concrete information about any activities leading to the completion of the project, which seems to still be in a very early stage.

Did you know that Deepspot will be the SSI and Mares Dive Centre ???? .
Are you also looking forward to the opening like us?

The king has died, long live the king…

Currently, the title of the world’s deepest pool belongs to the Y-40, located in Italy, which offers the opportunity to dive to a depth of 42 metres. The facility was opened on 5 June 2014. and has been sewing itself up as a world record holder for over 6 years now, tempting and attracting divers and freedivers from all continents.

The opening of Deepspot is sure to resonate with many foreign guests and strengthen Poland’s position on the diving map of the world. After magnificent wrecks of the Baltic Sea, reliable equipment, with which Polish producers conquer markets around the world, explorers and discoverers and masters in freediving, Deepspot has everything to become another jewel in the crown.
