CMAS Underwater Photography World Championships

The 13th CMAS Underwater Photography World Championships will be held in Turkey from 26 to 31 May. The event is organised periodically every 2 years. Each time the championship takes place in places where underwater photographers can count on taking interesting shots.

So far, competitions have been held in Spain, Mauritius and South Korea, among others. During the first day of the championship the divers will be able to practise taking pictures and get acquainted with the body of water. On the second and third days the actual competition will take place and on the fourth day the jury will deliberate. The photographs taken will be judged in the following categories: fish, macro, thematic macro, wide angle, wide angle with model. The final photographs will be presented to an audience of 1,500 in the amphitheatre. The winner will be determined by a live audience vote.

Entries can be sent in until 25 February 2011 and are organised by the CMAS Diving Federation and the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation.
