After the last filmed “trip” with cave divers to the Polish uranium mine, today we move to Albania, still unspoilt and waiting for its divers to discover. We’ve already written about wreck diving and recreational diving in this country, now it’s time to get to know the caves.

We are taken on a journey by “Judas”, who conducted an exploratory dive solo in one of the local wells. The cave, called Mother of Virula by the local inhabitants, certainly delights and stirs the imagination of those who like to enter places not touched by a human fin.

The entrance to the cave is at a depth of 27m and is somewhat impeded by the surrounding current. Venturing into the depths, the author of the video compares the interior to a canyon. There is quite a lot of space, 5m wide and about 20m high.

After reaching a depth of 40m (300m from the entrance), the “bottomless pit” begins. You can swim over it and explore the cave for another 50m, which gradually shallows. What draws your attention is the sensational visibility under water.

After watching this film, many people will probably revise their diving plans for the near and distant future.
