The CCR company from Czêstochowa, which, among other things, distributes the OMS brand in Poland, has released 65 wetsuits with the FATHOM logo on the market – a brand which is probably hardly known to anyone and no wonder, as the company ceased to exist. However, the suits remained and that’s why let’s take a closer look at them.
All the aforementioned drysuits were sewn in Poland in 2020. Most of the available pieces are made of strong Cordura, resistant even to the greatest hardships of exploitation, and the promotional pool is completed with suits made of trilaminate.
When it comes to details, everyone will find a variant to suit their needs. The neck brace is made of neoprene for maximum comfort of the user, while the wrist cuffs in most of the suits covered by the promotion are made of latex, although there are also those made of silicone. Additionally, each suit will come with a complete set of Checkup divesystem rings along with Showa gloves. As far as leg ends are concerned, we can choose between the classic, warm and comfortable wellingtons and a neoprene sock. The whole is completed with reliable valves of well-known brands Apeks and Si-Tech and a plastic zipper placed in the front of the suit.
All pieces are available in standard sizes, but if you need to make minor adjustments in length or other alterations, it will not be a big problem and for a small surcharge everyone will be able to perfectly fit the suit to their needs. The set includes, apart from the dryer itself, a bag for transport and storage of the suit and a hood.
We are all well aware that long gone are the days when diving equipment was simply supposed to work. Today, functionality and reliability are still the main criteria, but the wide range of manufacturers makes it possible for the customer to choose the equipment that will simply please him. In the case of Fathom wetsuits, we have several colour versions, including red, blue and yellow, which is certainly another small plus.
One of the most important things to look out for when buying a dry suit is something we can’t see when looking at photos or measuring a dry suit. It is about the service of the wetsuit in case any problems arise during its use. All the drysuits described here are covered by a standard warranty from the CCR company in Czêstochowa, which provides a full service.
OK, but if it’s so rosy and the price is so attractive, where’s the catch?
The only serious drawback seems to be the very limited number of units available at this price. In fact, the company has provided for only 65 units in the promotional offer.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that 3960 PLN is the retail price, while a separate price variant has been prepared for diving centres and shops.
