Unfortunately, there have also been at least two diving accidents in the country. From the information available, we know that on Lake Hańcza, a diver made an uncontrolled ascent from 5 metres, and a helicopter was called to the scene. Fortunately, as far as we know, it ended in fear and the situation only looked dangerous.

A much more serious incident took place at one of the most popular Polish diving sites. A woman of Czech nationality had an accident at “Koparki”. As far as we know, during the dive she had a panic attack and ascended to the surface from the depth of about 14 metres. She probably threw away the second stage of the regulator and, holding her breath, suddenly jumped to the surface.

Divers nearby immediately spotted her on the surface and immediately administered first aid. The victim probably had extensive lung barotrauma. The immediate administration of oxygen, which was on site, the quick reaction and the call to the ambulance service probably saved her life. A helicopter arrived several minutes later and transported her to hospital in Krakow.
