Baltictech 2017, day one – report

The first day of the Baltictech 2017 diving conference is slowly coming to an end. Most of the lectures and presentations are already behind us. In addition to substantive knowledge in various fields of diving, we also learned a lot of interesting information from behind the scenes.

Already after the official opening, the list of speakers began to cause a headache. The first choice fell on Sami Paakkarinen and his presentation on Norwegian cave exploration. Those who had already had contact with the Finn were well aware of what could await them and… they certainly were not disappointed. Great photos and an interesting story about the discovery of a virgin cave.

Another lecture on wrecks sunk in the Italian area was presented by Cesare Balzi. It was a unique chance to learn about the history of finding and exploring many interesting wrecks from the Second World War period.

raid

In recent days, we informed about the emergence of a new training organization in Poland. Today, we know that it will be derived from England RAID, which in our country will be represented by Łukasz Piórewicz from the Diving Technique Center in Gdynia.

Immi Wallin also aroused great excitement with her presentation on methods for searching for and identifying wrecks in the Baltic Sea. People interested in the subject have known Immi and the achievements of her company Subzone for a long time. Nobody who came to the meeting with her could be disappointed. Apart from presenting her completed projects, she also shared her practical knowledge and gave a lot of interesting tips.
