Baltictech 2017 conference – day one behind us…

The first day of the Baltictech 2017 conference is behind us. After two years of waiting, the appetites of the arriving divers, as well as ours, were considerable. So the organisers had a lot to work on, especially as over the decade they have made a name for themselves as the biggest and best diving event in Poland.

After officially welcoming the guests and opening this year’s edition of Baltictech, it was time for the main course – lectures. The list of speakers may not be as spectacular as during some of the past editions, but it was perfectly balanced.

Probably during none of the previous editions of Baltictech, I did not have such an easy task when it came to choosing particular lectures. Sometimes you would like to be in two places at the same time, but the abundance of choice left only a slight unsatisfaction, which probably made me appreciate the decisions made during the prior analysis of the conference programme even more.

Wrecks, caves, medicine, technical diving, closed circuits, rescue, history – there was everything and everyone could choose the number of impressions from each field. The good atmosphere and high commitment plus the full lecture rooms, speak for themselves.

You can see that people, after the first day, are happy and some have enriched themselves with prizes – congratulations on your luck. There are novelties to touch and talk about, and many people from our diving world, with whom it is always worth meeting and exchanging non-political views.

Baltictech 2017, was also the first edition of the conference where Dimitris Stavrakakis was missing. However, colleagues have not forgotten and Dima also had his moment during the event he helped create.
