The biggest event for technical divers in Poland is getting closer. As the weeks go by, the picture of what the organisers have prepared for us becomes more complete. Day by day, the list of exhibitors, who will present their products in the exhibition hall, fills up, there are also more and more people who have already confirmed their arrival by buying cheaper entry tickets in the pre-order. For all those who are undecided, we would like to present the profiles of the invited guests and the subject matter of their lectures.

Using the alphabetical key prepared by the organisers, we start with the duo from Finland – Atti Apunen and Janne Suhonen. The gentlemen have been a harmonious team for many years. The first of them is a man of words, a writer and journalist, while the second deals with photography. They share a passion for cave diving, and it is with this theme that they will appear in Gdynia. Thanks to their long-term efforts, we will have a unique opportunity to visit many rarely visited caves. Using photo and video materials, both gentlemen will talk about the specifics of making such documentation during extreme cave dives.

“The wreck of Rusałka, or the Baltic Victoria” is the topic of the presentation, with which Radosław Bizoń will visit Baltictech. Photographer and diving publicist, who for over 20 years has been working underwater realizing various interesting projects. Rusałka”, mentioned in the title of the presentation, is a little known and unique wreck of the tsarist fleet, resting in the waters of the Gulf of Finland. It sank in 1893 during a huge storm, taking all its crew to the bottom. What makes this wreck so unusual is that it rests at a depth of 70m… driven vertically into the sea bed!

The next no less interesting guest will be Pascal van Erp, who will present the backstage of the GUE – Ghost Fishing project. Pascal is a technical wreck diver with many years of experience. During many expeditions, in which he participated, he came across broken fishing nets, which abandoned live their own life. Often entangling wrecks with a dense web, they pose a serious threat to people, but also to sea creatures, which when entangled in them die from lack of oxygen. The problem of nets and the fight against them will be the focus of this lecture.

Dimitri Gorski, who comes from Bergen in Norway, is going to come to Gdynia. He is Russian by origin, but grew up in Stockholm, the capital of the country of 3 Krones. In the course of his career, he has already lived in various parts of the world, both warm and exotic, and frosty and definitely closer to our reality. Dimitri works on oil rigs in the North Sea and is passionate about cave diving and CCR diving after hours. During the meeting with Dimitri you will learn about cave diving in Sweden from behind the scenes. You will learn about the story of exploring a hard-to-reach cave in the Bjuralven valley, which is accessed by snowmobiles over many kilometres!
