Tamara is a Mexican technical diver and instructor from Puerto Morelos, a small village on the Caribbean coast of Mexico where she grew up in contact with the Ocean and where she also learned to dive in 1995. Her career as a diving instructor, which started in 2014, motivated her to learn about marine science; she became a self-taught underwater naturalist and got involved in monitoring, restoration and conservation projects, this also inspired her to complete a Scientific Diving program with the National University of Mexico (UNAM) and to use her advanced skills in a variety of environments such as inspecting ship hauls, collecting ocean samples from the Bravo Crater in Bikini Atoll, being a first responder in the restoration of corals after hurricanes or photographing coral fossils in the flooded caves. Her Technical Dive training comprises Decompression diving, Full Cave Diving, Cave DPV, Cave Survey and CCR MOD2/Trimix. She is currently a full time Cavern Instructor at ProTec Dive Centers in Mexico. Tamara speaks and teaches in Spanish, English and French.
