The first find was made by two divers, who by chance came across a 15kg bronze head of the king of the jungle, while another diver came across armour that had lain hidden among the rocks nearby.

Immediately after the media coverage of the case, the local authorities decided to close the area to all activities. The whole area will be thoroughly searched by specialists. It is possible that this is only a part of a wonderful find.

Interestingly, the police have stated that the find has not yet been handed over to them. An ongoing investigation is expected to clarify how the discovery came about and why the find was reported so late? Initial reports suggest that the objects found came from a Greek or Phoenician ship that sank in the area.

Years ago, in the same region, in the village of Riace, two well-preserved statues of warriors were found. After examination, it turned out that they came from the 5th century BC.
