Divers from Florida decided to take the Guinness World Record away from the Australians and set the longest underwater chain from humans. It should be noted that the task was not the easiest, as at the beginning of December 2017, the Australians achieved the result underwater, consisting of 353 links!

During an event organised in Deerfield Beach, Florida, the local diving community came together to set a new Guinneass Record. All interested divers were invited. Regardless of seniority, age and certification, both local and visiting divers – just about everyone.

The organisers had prepared for a maximum of 400 participants. All participants had to register in advance. The participation in the event was free of charge, however, there was a $20 administration fee, within which participants received a long sleeve prepared for the occasion, a certificate confirming their participation in the Guinness World Record breaking, and a gift bag.

We did it! On the day of the trial, 16 June 2018, 386 divers were underwater, who together formed the longest human diving chain and improved the previous record by 33 links! By the way, the divers also carried out a clean-up of the area, during which they managed to extract almost 730 kg of rubbish! Mainly broken fishing equipment.

The whole event was organised by the well-known local dive centre Dixie Divers.
