The diving group Adventures with Purpose has found the remains of a man who went missing 15 years ago on October 3, 2006.
On its social media, the diving group Adventures with Purpose has announced that another case has been solved. On 1 April, US divers found the remains of a man, which they identified as Dedrick Smith. The man went missing in the fall of 2006, near Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
We found Dedrick Smith underwater who went missing 16 years ago. 1 April 2022. The Adventures with Purpose group has launched a search for 26-year-old Dedrick Smith, who was last seen in Winston-Salem on October 3, 2006. Later that afternoon, the Adventures With Purpose team located Dedrick’s car at a depth of just 14 feet (4.2 m). – reads an official statement from the AWP group.
The next morning, April 2, Adventures with Purpose members, along with local law enforcement, returned to the scene. They again dived into the wreckage of a car, the interior of which contained the remains of a man missing since 2006.
Dedrick Smith was last seen at his girlfriend’s house. The woman had gone out for food in the middle of the night and when she returned, he was gone. The man changed his shirt and left his girlfriend’s house on Booker Street. He then got into his light blue and turquoise 1993 Pontiac Grand Am and drove off. Since then, all trace of him has disappeared. Until now.
Prior to his disappearance, Smith had maintained daily contact with relatives. He had promised his mother he would visit her on October 4, but no family or friends have had any contact with him since his disappearance. Although there were reported sightings in the area after his disappearance, none have been confirmed. His car, which contained some extra clothes, has also never been found.
