At 16.34 emergency services were notified of the accident. Then, for the next few hours, a search operation was conducted by the combined forces of the police, 8 fire brigade units and divers from the Specialised Group for Water and Diving Rescue from Kościerzyna. A few minutes after 7 p.m. the body of the missing man was found.
Unfortunately, despite resuscitation, the diver could not be saved and the doctor who attended the scene pronounced him dead. The rescue services completed their operation at 9.30 p.m. The prosecution is currently investigating the case for manslaughter, which is a routine action in such circumstances.
