Use of Polartec material in the No Gravity diving collection

Polartec® technical fabrics and knits have not only found a place in typical outdoor collections, but are also conquering the market for extreme sports related to the third element – water. When diving, reliable equipment plays a key role. The right clothing is also important. Taking NO Gravity as an example, we can distinguish 3 series of warmers which differ in material composition, cut and characteristics. These include Sea Lion, Narwhal and Mammoth models.

When descending to greater and greater depths, thermal comfort cannot be overestimated. Sea Lion are warmers made entirely of Polartec® knitted fabrics. They are available in three variants: the one-layer Sea Lion Light, the two-layer Sea Lion and the three-layer Sea Lion Plus. Thanks to this diversity, the user can choose an insulated jacket to suit their needs.

The standard Sea Lion is a combination of Polartec® Thermal Pro® knitted fabric used here as an inner material and Polartec® Wind Pro®. The purpose of the former is to provide thermal comfort. This is made possible by the special structure of Polartec® Thermal Pro®, which enables air storage while maintaining the lightness and breathability of the knitted fabric. This is thanks to an innovative structure creating air pockets, which insulate perfectly without weighing down the knitwear.

In turn, Polartec® Wind Pro® protects against wind 4 times better than the usual material. Another version of the Sea Lion – the Light version is a single-layer insulating jacket made of Polartec® Wind Pro®. Its task is mainly to protect against wind. In turn Sea Lion Plus is a variant additionally enriched with knitted Polartec® Power Dry®, which perfectly wicks moisture from the body surface to the outside.

Another suggestion from the No Gravity brand is the Narwhal series. This is a very reasonably priced choice. At the same time, it is characterised by high quality materials – Polartec® knitted fabrics and Cliashield® Apex® material were used to create this series.

The last Mammoth series is the flagship product of No Gravity created for the most demanding diving enthusiasts. Here, the outer layer is made of material with Polartec® NeoShell® membrane. The NO Gravity brand is the only one in Europe to produce warmers with a membrane. What is more, this material, as opposed to standard membranes, breathes perfectly and insulates very well at the same time. Its function is illustrated in the diagram on the left. No wonder the Mammoth model was awarded the prestigious Polartec® Apex award in 2012.
