Theflooded quarry “Koparki” near Jaworzno is one of the most popular diving locations in southern Poland. Apart from great infrastructure on the surface, the site also offers a wealth of sunken installations underwater. The diving community will surely be even more eager to visit this place after new attractions have been sunk in the quarry.

Via the official channels of Via Sport Diving, the “Diggers” Marina has reported the sinking of two objects. The first is a Star truck, which came to rest at a depth of 15m, and the second is a specially made tunnel.

The tunnel is located in the shallow part of the basin. The entrance from the vertical part is at a depth of 1 metre. It is an interesting challenge and variety for those who would like to see what it is like to move underwater in a limited space. We have also taken care of the divers’ safety and comfort – you can get out of the tunnel by using one of the four exits we read on the Via Sport website.

Thenew attractions at the ‘Diggers’ are sure to attract many divers who will want to see what they look like underwater. Although there is no shortage of attractions and interesting objects at the bottom of the quarry, it is certain that the newest ones will now be the main focus of visits.

It is a pity that the date of the sinking of the truck and the tunnel fell nearly a month after XI edition of the Diving Demo Days. Appropriate correlation of dates of both initiatives would have the potential to translate into the creation of one of the largest events in the history of Polish diving.

More photos of the Star truck sinking and the tunnel can be found at Via Sport Diving Marina “Diggers” homepage.
