Some reflections and thanks at the end of 2014

It’s 31 December 2014, with just a few hours left until the end of the year. Often, in the daily rush of responsibilities and all-encompassing rush, it’s hard for us to catch the right perspective to be able to look at everything more broadly. Today, even though the day is no different from any other, various summaries pop into our heads and the things we’ve managed to do (and those that didn’t go our way, unfortunately) are lined up.

First of all, on behalf of the whole D24 team I would like to thank all our readers. We are extremely pleased that you are willing to look here and on our Facebook, read, comment and share your thoughts. Without your interest the whole project, which was launched in July 2010 (how time flies!), would not have been possible. (how time flies!), would not make the slightest sense. So once again, a big thank you for being with us and we hope that in 2015 everything will look even better.

Last year was a special year, marked by a lot of changes. The first few months did not promise anything special and everything went on at its own pace until the “Underwater Adventure” in February. It was then that the first winds of change blew and over the next few months, some reshuffling took place behind the scenes of D24. As this was a drawn out process, those of you who have been with us for a long time will surely remember that we had a hiatus. This gave rise to many rumours about the portal’s future, or rather its end.

Fortunately, at the turn of spring and summer everything was straightened out and we returned with renewed energy, a new line-up and new plans for the future. Apart from continuing the activities we have undertaken, we have put even more emphasis on cooperation with organisers of various events, fairs and conferences. Thanks to this, we were able to keep you informed about what was going on at home and abroad, and we also carried out many interesting reports.

At the same time we were working on a new version of the portal. A huge amount of work, which was not visible, paid off and today, both visually and technically, everything looks much better and gives us much more possibilities than the previous version based on the old engine, which was slowly starting to fail and it was just a matter of time when it would fall down for good.

In order not to prolong it unnecessarily and not to go into too many unimportant details, I would also like to thank the people who occasionally published their texts with us. Many of them were of great interest, so you can be sure that we will try to publish even more in 2015. I would also like to thank all the companies with which we have cooperated and thanks to which the portal can develop.

I hope that the year ahead will be exceptional and we will all be able to consider it more successful than the one just passed. To everyone connected in any way with D24, thanks again and all the best in 2015!
