Software update for Shearwater computers

Canadian dive computer manufacturer Shearwater has released the latest V81 software update for users. The update includes the NERD 2, PETREL 2, PERDIX, PERDIX AI and PEREGRINE units.

The v81 update is now available and is recommended by the manufacturer for owners of NERD 2, Petrel 2, Perdix, Perdix AI and Peregrine computers as they all share the same firmware base.

However, it should be noted that due to hardware differences, not all features are available on all models. If you are the lucky owner of a Shearwater computer, the following changes also apply to your model unless otherwise noted.

For the latest Peregrine computer, you will need to upgrade Shearwater Cloud to the latest version v2.6.2 before upgrading.

As the manufacturer points out, this update is recommended for all users running NERD 2, Petrel 2, Perdix, Perdix AI and Peregrine.

Version 81 includes the following changes:

Adds features that were first released with Peregrine v78
Fixed a bug that did not allow @ + 5, delta + 5 or CEIL to be configured in the bottom row
Fixed an issue that prevented Bluetooth connection to some third-party logbooks
Serial numbers of peripheral devices are now displayed when viewing device details in the bus device list
