Reel Diving - interview with Marcin Wojturski

Reel Diving is a company with a well established brand name which is already well known among Scandinavian divers. Now it is time for Poland and what is Reel Diving and what does its appearance in our country entail, we present in our conversation with Marcin Wojturski.

Where did the idea come from to distribute the Halcyon brand on the Polish market through a company that has its headquarters and warehouses in Sweden?

Reel Diving has been distributing Halcyon in Scandinavia for a few years now and the experience we have gained by operating in the Norwegian, Danish, Finnish and Swedish markets has strengthened our conviction that this brand is our passion and suits our business. It was a natural process to expand and we directed our efforts towards Poland, England and the Baltic countries. We have been cooperating with manufacturers in Poland for many years and our experience in logistics and market opportunities strengthened our decision to distribute Halcyon in Poland, so when such an opportunity was offered to us, we were prepared for this step.

What does this really mean for customers in Poland?

Fast service and a large warehouse that delivers orders overnight, as well as a full warranty base and after-sales support. At the moment the logistics work very smoothly and the fact that we are located in Gothenburg does not lead to delays in deliveries or increased costs. The distributor, with our experience and commitment, is able to develop brand awareness in the market and increase the possibility of delivering Halcyon products to the customer.

Does the change from an existing distributor bring with it any changes in prices and logistical minimums?

Shipping prices are not much higher than in Poland, but of course it is always advisable to minimise the number of transports and increase your own stock of standard products needed for direct sale.

And what about communication? Does Halcyon have someone who deals with the market in Poland and in what language will it be possible to place orders and communicate with the current distributor?

Yes, Halcyon Polska has its own representative and all orders and contact with the customer are entirely conducted in Polish.

What year has Reel Diving been in existence?

Reel Diving was founded 2009 and has grown rapidly every year since.

Since Reel Diving also distributes other brands, do you plan to introduce them to the Polish market?

At the moment we are concentrating all our efforts on activities around the Halcyon brand, but in the future we will certainly invest our time and resources also in launching our own brand Shark on the Polish market.

Reel Diving and the so-called Reel Diving Team – what does it take to be able to join this noble group?

We are discussing this with a group of divers from Poland who are or have been previously associated with Halcyon. We are always open to suggestions and there is always a possibility to join the Reel Diving team. Team Reel Diving in Scandinavia is based on a group of divers with a lot of experience, specializing in different fields of diving, instructors and enthusiasts. Our aim is to create a similar team in Poland and to get involved in exploration or other diving projects in Poland.

Will Reel Diving as a new distributor actively participate in diving events (demodays, fairs) in Poland?

Absolutely! We are primarily divers and diving is our passion. We want to be among divers, actively participate in the life of the Polish diving community and be able to present our offer. We also want to look for new opportunities, establish interesting collaborations and friendships.
