Official: PADI announces change of ownership

Drew Richardson President and CEO of the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, has announced in an official communication the change of ownership of PADI. The sale of the organisation had been rumoured for some time, including some details that leaked out during negotiations, but only now is the news of the sale official.

• introducing new initiatives to encourage millions more people into sport and training
• a long-term commitment to encourage divers to discover and explore the underwater world
• encouraging divers to engage in the conservation of underwater fauna and flora

According to PADI officers, this change is another step in the organisation’s development and evolution into the next level. Both PADI members and the diving community as a whole can rest assured that this is a move made in the right direction.
